Who makes the Pussicat.com furniture?
Interwood Corporation manufactures the Pussicat brand of climbing furniture for your cat. We were founded in 1975 and have grown from a small operation into a global corporation, supplying the finest cat trees to discriminating clients around the world. In 1994, we opened an 18,000 square foot manufacturing space in Inman, South Carolina and have a second manufacturing facility in Atlanta, Georgia.
Understanding Your Cat's Needs

In the modern home, the average cat is kept strictly indoors for its own safety. Along with your love, a quality cat tree can add a lot of enjoyment to your kitty's lifestyle.  The suitable cat tree provides entertainment and exercise... a place to sleep... or perch to play at being a jungle cat.  Indoor cats also need to keep their claws in condition by sharpening them on a surface.  Most cats quickly learn to use an available cat tree instead of the corner of the sofa.

Choosing The Purr-fect Cat Tree

A quality cat tree is an investment that will last for years. There are several factors you need to consider before choosing the perfect cat tree for your favorite feline.

A cat will not use a cat tree that is too short for it. The minimum height of cat tree you will need is one slightly higher than your cat is able to reach with its back and front legs fully extended.
  • Choose a cat tree that will provide adequate support for your cat's size and weight.
  • Choose a cat tree which is sturdy and well constructed.
  • If you choose to design/build your own version, make sure the cat tree is well balanced and bottom heavy for stability.
  • If the cat tree is over 6' tall, provide a ceiling stabilizer for safety.
  • Do not purchase cat trees covered with carpet remnants. This type of cat tree encourages your cat to use your floor carpets to sharpen its claws. Pile carpets also have loops in which a cat's claws may become tangled.
  • Choose a location for your cat tree that has a view so the cat can watch the world go by and yet still provide privacy for a peaceful afternoon siesta.
  • Choose a color which compliments your furnishings or pick a neutral shade.
